Description
SAIC is seeking a Joint Exercise AI Integrator located at Camp Smith in Hawaii to support USPACOM to serve as a core member of the J7 Training and Exercises Division, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining AI‑enabled workflows, dashboards, and decision‑support tools that enhance the efficiency, realism, and effectiveness of joint military exercise planning and execution. This role bridges advanced data/AI capabilities with operational and tactical training requirements across the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
The specialist supports both operational synthetic computer‑assisted command post exercises (CPX) and tactical field training exercises (FTX), ensuring AI systems meaningfully augment planning, control, assessment, and after‑action analysis.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Develop, integrate, and maintain AI‑driven workflows, automation pipelines, and interactive dashboards to support exercise design, planning, execution, and assessment.
- Build data models and decision‑support tools that enhance scenario development, MSEL generation, inject management, logistics/sustainment visibility, and operational synchronization.
- Serve as the division's subject‑matter expert on Maven Smart System, Foundry, and related enterprise data/AI platforms; design exercise‑specific applications and data flows within these environments.
- Support CPX execution by integrating AI tools into the Exercise Control Group (ECG), including synthetic play, operational reporting, and real‑time analytics.
- Support FTX execution by developing AI‑enabled tools for tactical training units, including sensor integration, data capture, and automated performance analytics.
- Coordinate with J7 planners, component commands, training audiences, and external partners to ensure AI capabilities align with exercise objectives and joint training requirements.
- Lead or support working groups focused on AI integration, data architecture, and digital transformation within the exercise enterprise.
- Maintain and manage data repositories, model libraries, and exercise information systems to ensure continuity, accuracy, and accessibility across the JELC.
- Provide training and onboarding for staff and exercise participants on AI tools, dashboards, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with OPSEC, data governance, and classification requirements when handling exercise data and AI systems.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's and ten (10)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Extensive knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), CPX/FTX design, and Exercise Control Group operations.
- Demonstrated experience integrating digital tools, automation, or analytics into military training environments.
- Hands‑on familiarity with Maven Smart System, Palantir Foundry, or similar enterprise AI/data platforms.
- Experience developing dashboards, workflows, or data pipelines using modern analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of joint doctrine, operational planning processes, and multi‑domain training requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders, planners, and training audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced joint headquarters environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with synthetic training environments, LVC (Live‑Virtual‑Constructive) integration, or simulation federations supporting CPX execution.
- Experience supporting AI/ML model development, data labeling, or operational deployment.
- Prior service or experience on a Combatant Command, Service Component, or Joint Staff.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps environments and secure cloud architectures (JWCC, ICAM, etc.).
- Experience developing automated assessment tools or performance analytics for training audiences.
