  SAIC is hiring for a Logistics Principal who will be supporting In-Service Engineering Activity – Integrated Logistics Support (ISEA-ILS) for several PMW-160 programs. Such programs include: Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services (CANES), Integrated Shipboard Networking System (ISNS), Consolidated Enterprise Regional Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Submarine Local Area Network (SubLAN), Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) , Distributed Common Ground System – Navy (DCGS-N) and other IT basted systems. The Logistics Principal will support the PMW-160 ILS Manager for Configuration Management (CM)/Configuration Information (CI) issues for all PMW-160 ILS products, including Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) new construction and Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) sustainment.  Provide Engineering Change Request (ECR)/Engineering Change Proposal (ECP)/Engineering Change Order (ECO) review and updates as required.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop Configuration Item lists in support of Allowance Parts List (APL) development, and Life cycle support under NAVSUP WSS. 
  • Support Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) provisioning by providing Provisioning Technical Data (PTD) packages and Data product sheets as required. 
  • Review Incident Complaint Reports (ICRs), ECRs, and Engineering Proposal Requests (EPRs) to develop ILS Check Lists identify ILS products impacted & Cost. 
  • Work directly with the  NAVSUP WSS Technical Support Agent (TSA)/PMW-160 ILS Manager to identify EC impacts to the ILS products and Supply Support.
  • Coordinate with ILS product developers to identify impacts to these products as a result of End of Life (EOL)/End of Production (EOP), ICRs, ECRs, ECPs and ECOs.
  • Communicate Material Support Dates with the material manager at  NAVSUP WSS and his TSA as parts transition from PMW to  NAVSUP WSS.
  • Attend Change Implementation Boards (CIBs). Design Engineering Working Groups (DEWGs), In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and other program/ILS meetings representing the PMW-160 ILS Manager.
  • Develop and present briefs on hardware support and configuration at Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) and Fleet Summit Meetings.
  • Perform data analysis, consultation in engineering/logistics strategies; cost analysis; strategy assessments; affordability readiness; warranty management; and reduction of total ownership costs.
  • Perform Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) with the ISEA and ILS to develop detailed Configuration Item material lists used for developing APLs, buying spares, and developing ILS products. 
  • Develop impact statements, perform vendor research, and determine the Mission Essential Code (MEC) for each Rack and Lowest Repairable Unit (LRU) within the system. 
  • Support the  NAVSUP WSS by resolving  EOL, suitable substitution, and configuration-control of over 5000 items.  Most of these issues relate back to the PMWs and their ILS support. 
  • Review ECPs & ECOs and develop the projected cost estimates, ILS products, and estimated completion dates. 
  • Work directly with the  NAVSUP WSS TSA/PMW-160 ILS Manager to identify EC impacts and determine impacts to the ILS products and  NAVSUP WSS Supply Support.
  • Provide Navy Change Request (NCR)/ECP/ECO notices to the ILS team as they are developed and approved.
  • Coordinate with ILS product developers to identify impacts to these products as a result of EOL/EOP, ICRs, NCRs, ECPs and ECOs as required by the ILS Manager.
  • Communicate Material Support Dates (MSD) with the material manager at  NAVSUP WSS and his TSA as parts transition from PMW to NAVSUP WSS. This includes subject areas for Life Cycle Maintenance Support, Operational Support, Configuration.
  • Attend CIBs. DEWGs, IPRs, and other program/fleet/engineering/ILS meetings as required representing the PMW-160 ILS Manager  to present ILS status, and provide impacts to senior Navy management as required.
  • Use Configuration Management Database tools to develop spares estimates, identify failure rates, determine low-level inventory, and other risk factors.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree and ten (10) years or more experience; Masters degree and eight (8) years or more experience; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience. Years of experience in lieu of degree will be reviewed.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with using Configuration management Database tools.
  • Experience working closely with Managers.
  • Knowledge of PMW160 programs.
  • Experienced with Logistics Data Management, and total ownership costs.
