SAIC is seeking a Mission Services Team Lead to join our energized team to support the Department of Air Force's (DAF) mission to establish and maintain the Advanced Battle Management System's (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) through the ABMS Consortium's Digital Infrastructure Processing Node (DIPN) Product Development Teams (PDT). ABMS is the Air Force's latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system and is a top modernization priority for the DAF. ABMS will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. The broader effort known as the Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) is focused on rapid integration of capabilities and modernizing the decision-making processes for combat operations.

To accomplish the DAF's mission, the government in partnership with the ABMS Consortium will develop a deployable and fixed digital infrastructure that connects the DAF's Lead Wing in support of Agile Combat Operations that enables sharing of information across multiple echelons and multi-domains and provide decision superiority to tactical, operational and strategic customers. The DIPN PDT is comprised of industry leaders in systems engineering, digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, cyber security, integration & test and operations and sustainment working together in a collaborative environment to delivery critical capabilities to our warfighters.

The Mission Services Team Lead will work within the DIPN PDT environment to perform the following:

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the Mission Services Team
  • Drive innovative solutions to deliver results to the warfighters that leverage the latest in DevSecOps resources and scalable cloud and bare metal microservices to support advanced communications, tactical cloud, and secure processing
  • Lead and facilitate technical information exchange in support of consortium objectives
  • Develop a consolidated systems engineering approach to developing program capabilities
  • Decompose and allocate requirements to system functions to design, develop and deploy monitoring and metering systems
  • In concert with other DIPN PDTs, develop and maintain digital system architecture, models, and architecture standards of the ABMS using agile development processes.
  • Drive development of CI/CD software pipelines
  • Define tasks and methodology for the program and coordinate activities across other PDTs
  • Perform trade studies and technology roadmap development as directed by the Chief Engineer
  • Integrate applications from external sources in accordance with DIPN requirements
  • Act as a point of contact for external Mission Integrators to provide troubleshooting guidance

 

Qualifications

  Required Qualifications:

  •    U.S. Citizenship is required
  •    DoD Secret clearance: ability to obtain DoD Top Secret SCI
  •    Bachelors and eigtheen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience
  •    Excellent written communications skills (including technical documentation) and proven oral communication skills
  •    Proven ability to build strong, lasting relationships with customers and work effectively to collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment

Desired Qualifications:

  •    Prior experience working on USAF rapid capability programs
  •    Experience or familiarity with multiple Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) for system engineering and/or software development
  •    Experience systems engineering of data-driven applications, platforms, and working with Cloud-Based applications (i.e. Azure, AWS, etc.)
  •    Experience with system engineering and software tools (Security+, Java, Python, Spark, RDMBS databases, BigBang, Argo/Terraform, Flux/Helm, Consul/Vault, Kafka and NiFi)

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
