We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Supervisor to lead a team responsible for maintaining and securing network infrastructure , while also overseeing an offsite Network Operations Center (NOC). 

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing IT network operations, and technical expertise in at least two of the following areas:

·        Cisco network switches and dynamic routing

·        Physical cabling, including long-haul fiber

·        Aruba ClearPass and wireless access points

·        Palo Alto firewalls

 This role requires hands-on networking experience, the ability to lead a team, and coordination with external service providers to ensure operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leadership & Team Management:

 

·        Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, security analysts, and administrators, fostering professional growth and a collaborative work environment.

·        Develop and implement team objectives, performance metrics, and training plans to enhance skills and effectiveness.

·        Coordinate workload distribution, prioritize project tasking, and ensure timely resolution of network and security issues.

·        Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network and security incidents.

·        Oversee and coordinate with the offsite Network Operations Center (NOC) to ensure effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.

 

Network Supervision:

 

·        Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.

·        Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the network infrastructure.

·        Collaborate with stakeholders to align network infrastructure with business and operational requirements.

·        Work closely with vendors and service providers to manage network-related contracts, procurement, and service agreements.

·        Coordinate with the NOC for network monitoring, proactive maintenance, and incident response.

 

Cybersecurity Supervision:

 

·        Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity standards and best practices to protect the customer's IT environment.

·        Manage security tools and solutions, including firewalls, endpoint security, SIEM, and vulnerability management platforms.

·        Manage relationship with Network Operations Center and Security Operations Center.

·        Oversee security monitoring, incident detection, and response processes to mitigate cyber threats and attacks.

·        Ensure compliance with industry regulations, security frameworks, and government mandates (e.g., NIST, CJIS, CIS, PCI-DSS).

·        Lead cybersecurity awareness initiatives and training programs for IT staff and city employees.

·        Manage firewalls, VPNs, wireless security, and NAC solutions in collaboration with the cybersecurity team.

·        Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall policies, access controls, and network segmentation.

 

Project Management & Strategic Planning:

 

·        Plan and execute network and security projects, ensuring alignment with IT initiatives.

·        Develop budgets, proposals, and roadmaps for network and cybersecurity improvements.

·        Participate in long-term IT strategy planning, recommending new technologies and approaches to enhance security and efficiency.

·        Perform risk assessments and business impact analyses to prioritize security investments.

 

Incident Response & Disaster Recovery:

 

·        Develop and maintain incident response procedures, coordinating efforts to contain and remediate security breaches.

·        Collaborate with leadership, stakeholders, and external agencies during cyber incidents.

·        Oversee disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity in case of outages or attacks.

Qualifications

Required: 

·        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

·        Minimum 7+ years of experience in network administration

·        3+ years of experience in a leadership or management position overseeing IT teams.

·        Strong expertise in networking technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE Aruba, etc.) and cybersecurity principles.

·        Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, CJIS, etc.).

·        Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with executive leadership, IT teams, and government agencies.

·        Expertise in at least two of the following areas:

·        Cisco network switches and dynamic routing

·        Physical cabling, including long-haul fiber

·        Aruba ClearPass and wireless access points

·        Palo Alto firewalls

 

Preferred:

·        Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, CEH, or equivalent.

·        Experience working with government agencies or municipalities in a managed service provider (MSP) environment.

·        Experience with mobile device management (MDM), zero-trust architecture, and advanced threat protection solutions.

·        Experience overseeing an offsite NOC or managed service provider.

·        Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and leadership.

·        Knowledge of cloud networking, or automation tools for network management.


Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
