SAIC is seeking a Chief Innovation Engineer to support the United States Air Force in bridging intelligence community collection architectures, capabilities, and technologies with DOD operational requirements.  This effort will deliver rapid, innovative, and cost-effective capabilities to meet urgent warfighter need, and will include bringing space capabilities to bear cross all warfighting domains spanning intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat applications, battlespace awareness, command and control, multi-level security and mission programs.  This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements in geolocation and tagging, sensor and data fusion, unconventional / asymmetric warfare, situational awareness, cyberspace and spectrum warfare, large data analytics, data lake, jamming technologies, sensor technologies, geo-registration to deliver a cutting-edge approach. 

The Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) will work with SAIC's Innovation Factories, Venture Capital teams, industry, intelligence community, and DOD organizations, providing connective tissue between these organizations to leverage technology advancements and innovations for the USAF Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (TENCAP).  The aim of the Chief Innovation Engineer is to remove barriers, align deliveries, and drive enablers. The CIE addresses the tactical challenges of key stakeholders and helps ensure the focus remains on warfighter requirements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and professional networks with various DOD and intelligence organizations in developing cutting edge technology, such as DARPA, IARPA, In-Q-Tel, DIU, and Service and government research laboratories. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with industry, government, and academia to evaluate and assess emerging technology and programs are appropriate for incorporation into ongoing TENCAP efforts.
  • Write monthly Innovation Recommendation Reports
  • Maintain awareness and involvement across the portfolio, provide inputs and recommendations for realizing efficiencies, incorporation of innovations, and/or leveraging emerging capabilities for TENCAP objectives
  • Strengthen capacity for stakeholders to work together to co-create and implement transformative solutions
  • Oversee the development of targets and regular measurements of progress across the TENCAP program as it relates to Innovation

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and 18 years or more experience.
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • 10 years or more experience working in DOD or Intelligence Community prototyping, test and/or evaluation environments and integrating innovative technologies.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
