Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a Penetration Tester to join our team supporting a major state & local government customer. This position performs strategic planning and management, as well as digital forensics in alignment with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework. This position reports to the Projects Director.

Essential duties of this position include:
- Perform strategic planning and management in cybersecurity and digital forensics.
- Conduct specialized cybersecurity functions including red-teaming, ethical hacking, and cloud security architecture.
- Engage in digital forensics, malware reverse engineering, and enterprise cyber architecture.
- Provide detailed information for hardware and software selection and cloud service provider selection.
- Implement application and data migration techniques and tools to meet business needs and security requirements.
- Address a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies.
- Utilize COTS/GOTS and custom tools to scan, identify, contain, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities and intrusions.
- Apply expert engineering knowledge to design, develop, and implement security solutions.
- Write detailed technical reports on assessments and mitigation activities.
- Translate technical documentation into easily understood terms.
- Act as a spokesperson and advisor on advanced technical projects and research.
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelors and 10 years or more experience or Masters and 7 years or more experience or PhD or JD and 4 years or more experience. Experience in lieu of education may be considered
- Candidates must be able to pass a CJIS Criminal Justice background investigation and maintain CJIS clearance throughout employment term. Citizenship Required
Required Experience:
- Advanced technical knowledge in cybersecurity and digital forensics.
- Experience in performing strategic planning and management in cybersecurity.
- Proven experience in specialized functions such as red-teaming, ethical hacking, and cloud security architecture.
- Proficiency in malware reverse engineering and enterprise cyber architecture.
- Experience in selecting hardware, software, and cloud service providers.
- Strong background in addressing security issues related to architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
- Experience in researching, evaluating, and recommending new security tools and technologies.
- Proficiency in utilizing COTS/GOTS and custom tools for vulnerability management.
- Ability to write detailed technical reports and translate technical documentation.
- Minimum SEC+ or higher

- Participation with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Experience in working on unusually complex technical problems and providing innovative solutions.
- Proven ability to work under consultative direction towards long-range goals and objectives.
- Experience in serving as an organization spokesperson and acting as an advisor on advanced technical projects and research.
- Knowledge of applying advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to develop new principles and concepts.
- Experience in making decisions on administrative or project work matters to achieve program or organizational objectives.
- Strong background in developing advanced technological ideas and guiding them to final product development.
- Experience in influencing organizational image and technological capability through decision-making and recommendations.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
