SAIC is seeking an QA Engineering Technician III located in Hanahan, SC to support NIWC on the AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR cable and metal production task) contract to perform inspections, identify non-conformances, and ensure products/deliverables meet or exceed the customers expectations.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Perform routine inspections of materials; to include but not limited to metal, cables, components, and other products to ensure they meet drawing quality standards.
- Work with peers and different departments to address quality issues and improve processes.
- Record any non-conformances and report them as applicable.
- Ensure inspection and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Assist in preparing for and conducting internal and external quality audits.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, or formal electronics training from: Technical school, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications.
Progressive Experience: Must have at least ten (10) years appropriate experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of digital computers, peripherals/interface equipment, VME based systems digital switches, radio frequency transmitters, receivers, antennas, and modems.
Specific experience: Must have at least four (4) years of the last eight (8) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of C5ISR systems, subsystems and equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Analytical Thinking: Capability to analyze data, interpret technical drawings and schematics, knowledge of cable assemblies, and apply information to practical tasks.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Proficiency with tools and equipment, i.e. multi-meter, calipers, micrometer, screwdrivers, mechanical tools, etc.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in performing tasks and documenting results to ensure accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities to interact with team members and document work.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Computer Efficiency: Basic computer skills and programs, i.e. Email, MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with other team members and project holders.
- Safety Awareness.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust; SAIC will help to obtain; Active DoD Clearance accepted.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
