SAIC is seeking a Readiness Planner to join our team in San Antonio, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to travel to MAJCOMs to support different initiatives (Minimum travel requirements is %60).
- Working with interdisciplinary teams, various major commands, higher headquarters, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and other stakeholders.
- Leading organizations through Military Planning Process to improve readiness reporting across the Air Force.
- Coordinating updates to METLs, developing readiness measures for personnel, equipment, training, and facilities, and synchronizing efforts with relevant stakeholders.
- Drafting and presenting readiness briefs to leadership and command readiness offices.
- Research and support readiness requests for information (RFIs) and data requests from Congress, USAF Senior Leaders, Functional Area Managers (FAMs), Major Commands (MAJCOMs) and their Command Readiness Office (CRO).
- Coordinate and support the execution of readiness reporting initiatives in DRRS across the Air Force (AF), ensuring mission data is accurate, aligned, and actionable.
- Conduct readiness audits, ensure compliance with reporting requirements and timelines, report findings and make recommendations to HAF/A3TR leadership based on policy and trends. Additionally, maintain the Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT) Force Readiness Reporting Self-Assessment Checklists (SACs) to provide wing and measured unit level support/guidance/compliance.
- Prepare executive level correspondence, white papers, review, and provide content and comments on AF policy (doctrine, instructions, supplements, etc.).
- Capability Reporting. Maintain, publish and coordinate for approval of Mission Essential Task (MET) and MET List (METL).
- Approve, publish, and maintain Mission Essential Tasks (METs)/Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs) and the AF Universal Task List (AFUTL) to include coordinating additions, deletions, and changes to tasks and periodic reviews with HAF and Functional Area Managers. Primary point of contact for AF coordination on Joint Staff (JS) Universal Joint Task List (UJTL) tasks changes.
- Provide training (in person/virtual) to DRRS users at all levels of DRRS (HAF, MAJCOMs, Wings, and units. Assist with training development and building a training program effort.
- Work with DRRS development team to provide input on system requirements, user acceptance testing, and to create/develop Business Intelligence (BI) queries utilizing Cognos, in support of customer requirements.
- Maintain and update DRRS entries, ensure data accuracy and timeliness of Mission Essential Task List (METL) assessments, readiness narratives, and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and ten (10) years or more related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications:
- Service advance planning school graduate with successful utilization tour(s) (i.e., SAASS, SAMS, SAW).
- Strong background in Joint and Service Planning Processes.
- Strong understanding of DoD and military readiness frameworks, including DRRS, METL, and readiness assessment methodologies.
- Staff Experience including briefing and presenting to senior leadership.
- Readiness Background (e.g.,: Unit Deployment Manager, DCAPES experience, DRRS familiarity, Global Force Management (GFM).
- Strong communications skills (oral and written): Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with stakeholders and leadership at various levels.
- In-office work expectation and willingness to travel (including foreign travel).
Clearance:
- Candidate must have an active Top SECRET Clearance.
Travel:
- Candidate must be able to travel up to 60% of the time.
