SAIC is seeking a Security Associate supporting aspects of Personnel Security. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Performs assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives. Administers company policies that directly affect employees. Recommends changes to team policies. Develops solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. May refer to policies, procedures and practices. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) activity including processing clearances and visit requests for personnel
- Acts as primary contact for all new hire in-processing related to security clearance and briefing/training
- Maintain all records in compliance the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) /CFR 117 requirements
- Provide guidance and instructions to employees regarding their security clearance and any maintenance required
- Coordinate and interact with SAIC Leadership, Program Managers, and all SAIC employees
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interface with numerous cognizant security agencies, customers, and senior management
- Keep current with changes in industry requirements and training
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, demanding environment
- Other assignments as required

Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and zero (0) years experience. Additional four (4) years experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
- Basic understanding of NISPOM/CFR 117 and other government regulatory and compliance standards
- Proficient with DISS, NBIS, e-APP, SIMS
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- US Citizenship Required
