SAIC is seeking an experienced Senior Security Specialist in support of our customer's Office of Security. This individual is expected to operate in a diverse security environment. The position will be required to perform at a Senior level.
This program can quickly adjudicate a polygraph for selected candidates with an active TS/SCI. An active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this position.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Monitor and manage security programs and operations supported by providing status reports and recommendations for decisions.
- Assist, collaborate, and coordinate with other customer Security Offices/Division.
- Develop solutions, and convey to internal and external customers.
- Provide agency level technical expertise concerning the identified security disciplines and operations support.
- Monitor security applications through the review and analysis of appropriate metrics and maintain required records.
- Prepare and disseminate security procedures/guidance.
- Provide guidance as required in implementing security requirements.
- Manage project milestones.
- Develop life cycle plans.
- Update and maintain appropriate records.
- Conduct inspections and performs assistance visits, as required.
- Liaise with members of the DoD, the IC and other officials as required to keep abreast of current personnel.
- Interpret security policy on matters pertaining to processing, dissemination, and controlling of classified materials.
- Receive, control and safeguard SCI and collateral information.
- Acts as liaison between the customer and other federal agencies and contractors.
- Risk management – conducts surveys and render impact statements or recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver briefings to internal and external customers. Prepares various forms of correspondence.
- Monitor and manage security operations and provide government with status reports and recommendations for decisions.
- Apply experience in supporting security concepts, principles and practices to analyze and resolve difficult and complex security issues.
- Provide security guidance to contractors using DoD and IC regulations and requirements, analyze complex data and make appropriate program recommendations.
- Investigate and prepare impact statements, and provide recommendations on security/security violations.
- Prepare SCI Controlled Access Programs (CAP's), Special Access Programs (SAP), Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) and other collateral materials for shipment to other agencies/sites IAW applicable security handling procedures.
- Prepare outgoing classified messages on employees/contractors visiting other government facilities.
- Provide technical security expertise in one or more of the following security disciplines: personnel, physical/industrial, computer investigations, and operations.
- Utilize security concepts, principles and practices to analyze and resolve difficult and complex security issues.
- Monitor security applications through the review and analysis of appropriate metrics.
- Develop the required program/operation to support tasks/requirements.
- Access to highly secure programs to be eligible to indoctrinate/debrief their customers in support of the customer's mission.
- Access to Restricted Data (RD) to be eligible to indoctrinate/debrief their customers in support of the customer's mission.
- Manage Foreign Government Information (FGI) as required for Security Officer support to meet the customer's mission.
- Obtain Access to Special Access Program (SAP), Control Access Program (CAP) and/or Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) Information as required for the execution of the customer's sensitive program mission.
- Assist the Directorate stakeholders in implementing appropriate classification management efforts (at the Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) and collateral levels) by providing approved classified guidance, release procedures, and marking criteria.
- Share knowledge and experience to facilitate effective practices and increase staff awareness of best practices.
- Provide timely classification management expertise to resolve complex classification management issues.
- Maintained personal classification expertise through collaboration with ODNI and IC classification management communities.
- Develop innovative techniques to implement training and compliance with established classification management policies.
- Participate in related training, informational briefings, and assist in responding to related agency taskers.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience: Required:
- Active TS/SCI is REQUIRED
- Ability to obtain a polygraph
- Demonstrate 10experience applying Executive Orders 12333,13526 and 13556, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) 703 & 710 and DoD Manual 5200.01 standards to classified national security information, controlled unclassified information, and information security.
- Demonstrate experience applying the requirements of the most recent edition of the Intelligence Community Markings System Register and Manual.
Desired:
- 8 years demonstrate experience in briefing and communicating with customers with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Possess Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
