SAIC is seeking a Security Specialist to support the US Air Force Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) program at Multinational Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactics Facility Polygone in Oberambach, Germany.   

 

 

COBRA provides for the implementation, integration, development, and delivery of training and technology solutions to support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partner multi-domain operations (MDO) within the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) strategy. 

 

 

Overview:

The Security Specialist provides technical expertise to the USAFEAFAFRICA Warfare Center (UAWC) through execution of the Physical and Industrial Security Program. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge of U.S. government security standards, access control design and configuration, secure logistics of classified material, advanced inspection techniques, and detection/mitigation of technical surveillance and counterintelligence threats to facilities. The Security Specialist ensures protection of classified programs and the secure operation of facilities supporting U.S. and allied missions. 

 

Security Specialist will: 

  • Execute the 19th Electronic Warfare Squadron (19 EWS) Security Program and manage site physical security requirements in accordance with Department of the Air Force Instruction 31101 and Base Defense Operations policies.  

  • Operate, configure, and maintain site electronic security systems; access control systems; and POLYGONE processing and identification systems. 

  • Coordinate with the Program Security Manager (PSM), Program Security Officer (PSO), Government Activity Manager (GAM), Commander, and facility owners to establish and maintain secure environments for classified operations.  

  • Deliver Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA), conducting and documenting initial, situational, and annual training, performing self-inspections, and implementing corrective actions. 

  • Manages personnel vetting and incident reporting within the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), conducts facility inspections, and ensures compliance with all security requirements. 

  • Responsible for the protection, transmission, transport, packaging, and destruction of classified material in accordance with the DD254 and applicable DoD directives. 

  • Participate in formal/informal training events as required/directed to maintain tactical/technical skills.

  • Contract position will support any additional related duties as required. 

Qualifications

 

Required Experience/Qualifications 

  • US Citizen and Active U.S. Secret security clearance and be eligible for NATO Secret indoctrination.

  • Bachelors and Six (6) or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Must currently possess or obtain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 6 months of employment. 

  • Extensive knowledge of DAFI 31‑101 physical‑security and Base Defense Operations requirements. 

  • Ability to operate security‑management systems, electronic‑security tools, and accountability documentation. 

  • Strong communication and coordination skills for interaction with U.S. and host‑nation security agencies. 

  • Ability to manage sensitive and classified material in accordance with established security policies. 

 

 

Desired Experience/Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience in U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), or multinational security environments. 

  • Familiarity with COMSEC accounting software, physical‑security systems, or access‑control platforms. 

  • Experience preparing security documentation, checklists, and inspection materials. 

  • Training or certification in security‑program management or physical‑security operations.
