SAIC is seeking a Security Systems Administrator at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL!
Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs tier one and two network and systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD.
Provides support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems.
Maintains file servers, network access, documents, analyzes and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
Monitors and controls one or more mid-range application servers.
Studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup and operations.
Monitors the operation of assigned applications and storage devices and determines the point of hardware or
software failure.
Troubleshoots and configures systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a system malfunction.
Coordinates with software systems engineering or applications developers as necessary to correct errors.
Maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports.
Installs operating system software, patches, and upgrades.
Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, and networking issues.
Configures, optimizes, fine-tunes, and monitoring operating system software and hardware.
Performs system backups and recovery.
Conducts server builds.
Completes troubleshooting issues related to infrastructure including VDI components.
Develops and maintains SOPs for the infrastructure including VDI Environment.
Develop in-depth knowledge of system administration and processes for the diverse systems and networks managed, including monitoring and supporting routine patches, installs, upgrades, and task orders impacting computer systems.
Track, review, and ensure the quarterly implementation of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security
Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) systems by applying cybersecurity configuration standards to harden systems, software, and networks, ensuring compliance and reducing vulnerabilities across operating systems, browsers, and applications.
Track, review, and ensure the quarterly implementation of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across computer systems.
Oversee and update Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) across HQ Campus eMASS packages. Ensure
quarterly updates include the latest scan results, STIG implementations, and evidence demonstrating progress in mitigating vulnerabilities.
Maintain comprehensive records of deviations from the USSOCOM Enterprise Baseline for software and hardware configurations within HQ Campus systems.
Work closely with System Owners and Planners to provide Information Assurance guidance for new project initiatives and package renewals. Collaborate on developing, updating, and sustaining critical cybersecurity documentation, such as:
System Security Plans
Business Continuity Plans
Concept of Operations (CONOPs)
Vulnerability Management Plans
Ensure that hardware/software artifacts for eMASS packages are kept current, coordinating with appropriate offices for re-approval of systems with lapsed statuses.
Serve on the HQ Campus Change Control Board as a cybersecurity technical expert, aligning with USSOCOM Manual 380-3 and industry best practices to ensure robust security measures are in place for system changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree & 5+ years of experience; OR Masters Degree & 3+ years of experience. Nine years of applicable experience with a High School Diploma will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Have a demonstrated ability to communicate exceptionally well both orally and in writing, as well as have a positive customer service attitude.
A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required.
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent is required.
