SAIC has an opening for a Senior Accountant in support of highly critical customer activities supporting our national security. In this role you will act as the senior member of a team of accountants responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas.
Your responsibilities include:
- Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries
- Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts
- Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies
- Provide analysis and support to external auditors
- Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position
- Certified Public Accountant certification maintained in good standing
- 18+ years accounting/auditing experience, preferably in support of government activities
- Demonstrated performance executing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to conduct domestic travel up to 10% of time
- Ability to act as the subject matter expert on a team of accountants and advise the customer on actions with vendors
