SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure to support machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads within the Army Intelligence & Security Enterprise (AISE). This role will focus on ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency of cloud environments while enabling seamless integration of AI/ML solutions. The Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver mission-critical cloud capabilities.
Job Duties:
- Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads and real-time analytics.
- Optimize cloud environments for scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to deploy and manage machine learning models in the cloud.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and governance policies for cloud-based systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Stay updated on advancements in cloud technologies and best practices for AI/ML workloads.
- Support the operational integration of AI/ML solutions to enhance intelligence capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, or similar frameworks for tasks like natural language processing (NLP), text generation, summarization, or conversational AI.
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and edge computing.
- Familiarity with Army Intelligence Enterprise data requirements and workflows.
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for deploying and maintaining AI/ML models.
Clearance:
- Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly.
