SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer located in Pearl City, HI to support the USINDOPACOM J76, K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center to design, deploy, and maintain a network to support joint military exercises, ensuring it meets security standards and integrates well with existing systems. Additionally, you'll lead network activities during key exercises, develop training materials, and mentor junior administrators while coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and alignment with broader goals.

NOTE: This position will require ~50% travel; up to 6-10 times per year (1-2 weeks per exercise planning conference and up to 5+ weeks per exercise execution.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Serve as Senior Network Engineer for the PTEN-D program. Receive direction, oversight, tasking and technical direction from the PTEN-D Section chief to design, deploy, operate and sustain the PTEN-D network environment in support of the Joint Exercise Program (JEP). Plan, coordinate, and execute modernization activities aligned with DoD Zero Trust and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance goals. Assist in development and implementation of procedures for PTEN-D operational readiness, cybersecurity posture and integration with RJTI nodes. Manage lifecycle planning for hardware, software, and network components supporting unclassified and classified exercises. Coordinate with stakeholders across USINDOPACOM J7, component commands, and external agencies to ensure alignment of PTEN-D with broader enterprise initiatives. 

  • Serve as J764 IT Network Lead during INDOPACOM JEP bilateral and multinational exercises within the Area of Responsibility (AOR). Provide on-site and remote technical leadership during planning, setup, execution and after-action phases. Develop continuity plans, technical documentation, and lessons learned to enhance future PTEN-D deployments. Support integration of new capabilities and modernization efforts required to maintain operational readiness and cybersecurity compliance.

  • Train and mentor PTEN-D Network Administrators to ensure technical competency of PTEN-D Network Administrators and delegate technical workload as necessary to ensure continuity of PTEN-D operation in deployed missions 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelors and five (5)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Networking technologies, Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Wireless Networks, Type 1 Encryption, Software Defined Networking, Firewalls, VPN, and securing networks.

  • Working knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), best cybersecurity practices and emerging Zero Trust requirements.

  • Foundational knowledge of cloud and cloud technology.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT level II or higher certification such as Security+ CE, CySA+, CASP, CISSP etc.

REQUIRED CLEARANCES:

  • Active SECRET clearance required at start. Must be able to obtain a full TS/SCI Clearance

  • Must be a current US Citizen


Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
