SAIC is seeking a Senior Radar Engineer to join our STARS team in Huntsville, AL. The senior-level candidate is responsible for analyzing radar signal data, issue root cause identification and resolution, algorithm development, and presentation of results for technical briefings to leadership. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able to operate with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform system-level analysis and simulations to evaluate radar performance and ensure models match deployed baseline performance.
• Implement signal processing algorithms for radar applications, including target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Conduct testing and validation of radar simulation algorithms in a Models and Simulation environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to radar system algorithms.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in radar technology to ensure accuracy of Models and Simulations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance:

• An Interim Secret Clearance is required prior to employment; a Secret Security Clearance is required to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

• Understanding of radar signal and data processing.
• MATLAB knowledge and experience.
• Experience with root cause analysis of strategic radar systems and interoperability.
• LINUX knowledge and experience.

Desired Skills:

• PERL script knowledge and experience.
• Familiarity with X-band radars.
• Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) pre- and post-test analysis activities and procedures.
