Exciting Opportunity: Test Engineer for Submarine Communication Systems

SAIC is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead and support advanced Very Low Frequency (VLF) submarine communication systems. Join our innovative team ONSITE in San Diego, CA, and contribute to mission-critical efforts in communication technology development, integration, and testing.

Your Role:


As a primary point of contact (POC) you'll leverage your expertise to advise the government and ensure the successful development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge systems. You'll collaborate with teams, manage technical tasks, and ensure projects meet operational, cost, and schedule requirements.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead SubComms Test Engineer
  • Provide expert guidance on hardware and networked systems testing, configuration, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during integration, implementation, and testing phases.
  • Offer technical direction, mentorship, and training to less experienced staff.
  • Interface regularly with management, customers, and team members to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Support the management of task orders, coordinating with multiple agencies, vendors, and customers to achieve program goals.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or commensurate experience) and 5 years or more of related experience. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
  • Proven experience in writing and executing test documents.
  • Strong skills in establishing equipment configurations to meet operational requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start
  • Background in RF Engineering, with preferred experience in VLF systems.
  • Familiarity with waveform development and DoD communications systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Understanding of VLF communication concepts and experience working with similar systems.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
