SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support a partner company effort for the Air Operations Center (AOC) Modernized Replacement System Program, a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) initiative. The program aims to provide integrated air and missile defense command and control (C2), planning, coordination, execution management, and integration across various operations centers. This role involves a dynamic mix of remote work, travel within the United States, and an extended assignment in Kuwait City.
The objectives of the program are to provide an updated fully functional AOC within an existing location, that will have modern capabilities including:
1. Secure Network IT Infrastructure: Enable Partner Nation Classified data exchange.
2. Virtualized Warfare Mission Applications: Deliver applications for mission execution.
3. Integrated Air and Missile Situational Awareness: Enhance threat and engagement management.
4. Battle Management Decision Aids: Support engagement monitoring and direction as per CONOPS.
5. Comprehensive Training: Provide training on system usage and operations.
6. Interim Contractor Support (ICS): Ensure continued operational support.
*This work spans three phases*
Phase 1. (Approx. 6 Months Remote, with US Travel)
- Contribute to and attend scheduled customer meetings.
- Help establish a virtual CONUS-based SCE SIL for risk reduction, integration, validation, and verification.
- Assist in developing a PME-integrated environment for testing.
- Support contract team during testing events, including TRR, SAT, and audits.
- Document system design changes, installation plans, and test/evaluation reports.
- Develop and tailor customer-focused training courseware.
Package and prepare equipment for US Government inspection and shipment.
Phase 2. (Approx. 6 Months in Kuwait City, Beginning Feb/Mar 2026)
- Support PME equipment distribution and installation.
- Integrate and implement modernized system components.
- Assist in System Acceptance Test activities.
- Document design changes and test/evaluation outcomes.
Provide training to Kuwait Air Force personnel.
Phase 3. (Approx. 1 Year in Kuwait City, Summer 2027 - Mid-Sep 2027)
- Operate, administer, and maintain the system on-site.
- Conduct On-the-Job Training (OJT) with resident Field Service Representatives (FSR).
- Identify and resolve field issues, facilitate end-user training.
- Maintain spares, manage upgrades, and comply with configuration control.
Document and track system anomalies and deficiencies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline preferred. Associate degrees, relevant job experience, and certifications may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years of diverse experience in the use and management of C4I systems in an operational environment, including Audio Visual (AV) Systems, Radar Systems, Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) Systems, Link-16, Voice Communication Systems (VCS); and IT hardware set-up and infrastructure support for DoD/military programs.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen with a valid US passport and visa.
- Clearance: Minimum Interim DoD Secret clearance.
- Technical Proficiency: Cisco networking, VPN configurations, VoIP systems, VMware virtualization, Linux/Unix operating systems, Windows Server management, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Host Based Security System (HBSS).
Desired Qualifications:
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT II level IA Certification.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+).
