SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer/DevOps Administrator to support expansion of the U.S. Army Asian Studies Detachment's CITROS OSINT/DOMEX management system.
This work will be performed on site at Camp Zuma, Japan.
The Software Engineer/DevOps Administrator will be responsible for:
Application Development
- Design, implement, and maintain features across the platform using C#/.NET (Framework & Core) and Angular
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with an emphasis on performance and scalability
- Collaborate with team members on DTOs, APIs, and database interactions
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on best practices
Database & Data Integration
- Work with SQL Server and AWS RDS for schema design, optimization, and query performance
- Implement stored procedures, views, and data access layers
- Support ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data sources
DevOps & Infrastructure Collaboration
- Assist in maintaining build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
- Support application hosting across RHEL/Kestrel and/or Windows/IIS environments
- Contribute to monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting of deployed applications
- Apply basic security and compliance practices aligned with enterprise standards
Cloud & Architecture Awareness
- Participate in discussions around AWS architecture (S3, EC2, RDS, ALB, CloudWatch)
- Assist in designing and implementing cloud-ready solutions without over-engineering
- Work with senior engineers and architects to integrate on-prem and cloud
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree and 5+ years of software development
Proficiency in C#/.NET (Core and Framework)
- Frontend experience with Angular (CoreUI preferred)
- Solid SQL skills (queries, indexing, optimization)
- Experience with Git and modern version control workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar)
- Ability to troubleshoot across full stack (frontend, backend, DB, infrastructure)
Optional Experience:
- Exposure to AWS services (S3, RDS, EC2, ALB).
- Knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments.
- Experience with containerization or service hosting (Kestrel, IIS, Docker optional).
- Understanding of networking basics (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs).
- Ability to support junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
Certification Requirement:
- Must have an active Secret clearance
