Location: United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) J56 (Mission Planning Support Division)
Mission Overview: The USSTRATCOM J56 Mission Planning Support Division manages the Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network (ISPAN) Mission Planning and Analysis System (MPAS) to ensure readiness in support of USSTRATCOM's broader mission to develop and maintain nuclear, cyber, global strike, electronic warfare, missile defense, and intelligence capabilities to deter aggression and, if necessary, respond decisively.
Role Overview: You'll work 100% on-site at USSTRATCOM's Command and Control Facility (C2F) at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. Completed in 2019, this state-of-the-art, 916,000 square foot installation features cutting-edge C4ISR systems, high-performance computing, and resilient communication networks to ensure optimal situational awareness and operational efficiency. The facility is equipped with robust physical and cybersecurity measures, modern ergonomic workspaces, and high-quality amenities, fostering a positive work-life balance and an advanced, secure working environment.
As a Software Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing data critical to USSTRATCOM operations. You will be part of a dynamic 6-person team within a larger 50-person contract, dedicated to representing user interests while achieving operational goals.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Script and Program Management: Developing, updating, and running scripts and programs to ensure data is current and accurate.
- Data Preparation: Configuring data tailored for military planners and end-users to enhance operational efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving data and application errors to maintain smooth operations.
- Technical Requirements Documentation: Crafting and clarifying technical requirements to guide development and operational processes.
- Interoperability Facilitation: Ensuring seamless data integration and interoperability between different applications through effective data management design.

Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.
- Security Clearance:
- Active TOP SECRET clearance.
- Eligibility for additional special security accesses and SCI.
- Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
Desired Experience:
- United States Strategic Command:
- Knowledge of USSTRATCOM data management processes and operations.
- Familiarity with USSTRATCOM data management infrastructures and the ability to design and implement complex data manipulation processes to manage mission data products supporting operations, maintenance, and testing.
- Military Planning:
- Experience managing data or operational planning for any military planning organization which would translate well into the J56 mission.
- Database Management and Modeling:
- Experience in database management tasks such as query optimization, data cleanup, and configuration to maintain high performance and reliability.
- Proficiency in translating user requirements into logical data models and integrating them into physical models.
- Ability to adhere to strict data requirements while using creativity to meet user needs.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools, such as Erwin Data Modeler, Oracle SQL Developer, and Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
