SAIC is seeking an experienced Software/Systems Integration Engineer to support air and missile defense programs within the Army Business Group at our El Paso, Texas facility. The ideal candidate is a prior U.S. Army 140A (Chief Warrant Officer, Information Services Technician) with hands-on expertise in networked defense systems, software integration, and field operations supporting air defense and counter-UAS missions.

The Software/Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following: 

  • Support laboratory and field testing of air defense and counter-UAS systems and subsystems. 
  • Perform software integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of networked defense architectures. 
  • Conduct systems operations including initialization, configuration management, and interoperability verification. 
  • Document test results, anomalies, etc. 
  • Coordinate with government customers and program teams during test events. 
  • Travel (~25%) to customer sites, test ranges, and field locations in support of program requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree. 

Required Clearance: 

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required. 

Required Skills: 

  • Background as U.S. Army 140A or equivalent signal/systems experience. 
  • Proficiency in military networking protocols, system operations, and software configuration. 
  • Experience with air defense C2 systems (FAAD C2, AMDWS, or equivalent). 
  • Strong troubleshooting and systems integration skills. 
  • Ability to operate in both lab and field environments.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Retired U.S. Army 140A (CW3-CW5). 
  • Prior experience supporting Redstone Arsenal programs or SETA contracts. 
  • Familiarity with directed energy or counter-UAS program offices. 
  • Familiarity with counter-UAS systems and Remote ID detection technologies. 
  • Experience with SINCGARS, MIDS, JTT, or other military communications. 
  • Understanding of WES messaging and track correlation.

 

Required Certifications: 

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
