Sr. Configuration Analyst (FFSS)
SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Configuration Analyst to join a high-performance team supporting VA applications and spearheading our customers (VA) migration to the cloud. Job Description
- Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed software and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
- Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
- Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.
- Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.
- May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
- May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and ten (10) or more years of relevant experience; an additional eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical discipline is required.
- Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundation, CMII or equivalent configuration management certifications are a plus.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.
- Experience working within large, regulated enterprises or federal environments is beneficial.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering; broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
- Provides technical guidance and solutions to complex problems; operates autonomously and makes sound decisions.
- Ensures compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects; collaborates frequently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled in:
- Configuration management practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting)
- Source control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion) and branching/merging strategies
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory)
- Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
- Managing COTS software, vendor patches, and version control
- Infrastructure as code and environment management (Ansible, Terraform)
- Knowledgeable in software quality standards, governance frameworks, and training developers on CM tools and quality practices.
- Proficient with work management tools (JIRA, Azure Boards, Trello) and documentation tools (Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart).
- Understands database concepts, dependency management, and build reproducibility.
- Strong analytical skills for investigating build failures, dependency conflicts, and deployment issues.
- Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective collaborator and mentor; leads and trains junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
- Manages multiple priorities and projects in fast-paced environments; meets deadlines.
- Committed to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends and emerging DevOps technologies.
Clearance Requirement
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply on company website
