SAIC has an exciting future opportunity for a Systems Administration Lead/Manager in Bremerton, WA. This Naval program will provide IT operations, application management, maintenance, and customer support to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) & Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) including remote sites and detachments in order to meet mission requirements.   This work is contingent upon award news in the Fall of 2025 timeframe.     Work is performed on site in Bremerton, WA and may require travel to other customer locations.   Job Summary: The Systems Administration Lead will plan, coordinate, install, test, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain system-level PSNS and IMF hardware and software systems. Including virtualized (VMware) environments. The SAL will be responsible for approximately 450 servers and a user base of over 12,000. The SAL will perform and oversee system administration operations on all server systems to maintain a functional and secure operating environment for multiple networks in compliance with Government policies and regulations.   Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain server accounts to infrastructure.
  • Develop and Maintain SOPs for system administration procedures.
  • Ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Validate disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and DoN security configuration policies and accreditation requirements.
  • Manage server account access, system resources, performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Implement and document security procedures and tools, resolve hardware/software interface problems, and maintain system configuration documentation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of system administrators, and cable plant technicians.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and successfully deliver projects and IT systems into test and production environments.
  • Develop strategies for IT system and data center modernization and deliver architecture and technology recommendations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in systems administration.
    • or twelve (12) years of experience in systems administration and a HS diploma can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale systems and IT infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD and DoN security policies and accreditation requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Required Clearance:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must hold a minimum of a Top Secret and SCI eligible.
Required certifications:
  • DoD Manual 8570, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program for Information Assurance Management (IAM) experience and certification compliance.
  • DoD Manual 8140 for Program Manager role compliance; education, experience and/or certification.
Desired / Nice to have:
  • CISSP, Security+, RHCSA (Linux), MCSE (Microsoft) certification.
  • Experience with VMware, Cisco Call Manager, Citrix, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, SCCM, SCOM, SolarWinds, Splunk, Cloud Platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and Tenable Security Center.
  • Proficiency in Unix and Windows system administration.
  • Familiarity designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily on-site at Bremerton, WA with remote support responsibilities at other Navy sites in the US and Japan. 
  • Potential on-call responsibilities to address critical network and system issues.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
