SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support software development of Naval gun weapons systems in Dahlgren, VA. The Systems Engineer will write Test and Evaluation Plans and support that effort, as well as assist architect test configurations, oversee test execution, and generate test result artifacts.

Job responsibilities include: 

  • Developing test plans and architecture configurations.
  • Overseeing test and evaluation events, which may include shipboard tests.
  • Generate test result documentation and briefings to project and program leads.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelors in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline and five (5) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills:

  • Testing and evaluation experience.
  • Experience related to gun weapon systems and/or Army/Navy programs.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of team members on the project.
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel.
  • Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word).

Required clearance:

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance.

Desired skills:

  • Experience related to weapons systems and/or Navy programs preferred.
