SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer Manager to support the Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) Team in Houston, Texas. This position is onsite at Johnson Space Center.

COSMOS provides sustaining, maintenance and development of large systems of systems supporting the operations and training of NASA's humans spaceflight missions. The Systems Engineering Manager would be responsible for providing overall Systems of Systems implementation, as well as ensuring that the program meets or exceeds the NASA and industry standards for Systems Engineering. 

Job Description:

  • Lead the programs implementation and execution of systems engineering practices in accordance with NASA NPR 7123.
  • Provide operational systems engineering management expertise to the program.
  • Manage and allocate the Systems Engineering workforce in support of the programs goals and objectives.
  • Implement consistent and industry standard SE practices for new and existing systems.
  • Report to the COSMOS Chief Engineer.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more of related experience. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant system engineering experience to include a minimum of 10 years of leadership as a system engineer
  • In depth experience with complex IT systems of systems architectures 

Desired Qualifications:

  • NASA  or Federal Government contract experience
  • Real time operations experience
  • Experienced with NASA NPR 7123
  • Expertise in Enterprise and System Architecture
  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw, and similar tools
  • Experience managing a large team
  • Experience with reporting financials, metrics, etc.
  • Experience with tasking and scheduling
  • Experience interfacing on daily basis with the customer 

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
