SAIC is looking for a Technical Writer to help support one of our premier clients in Washington, DC
Job Duties
- Perform technical editorial reviews, which involve formatting, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and narrative context of sentence structure.
- Assist with development of SOP/flow charts/graphics for presentations as processes are streamlined.
- Manage review/edit of multiple documents simultaneously within 24hr deadline (5-20 pages each), which include but are not limited to the following:
- Executive Briefs
- Narratives for the OSAI Management Council Charter
- Completeness Letters
- Pre-Application Letters
- Review Letters
- Transmittal Memo
- Contour Close-Out Letters
- Final Documents
- Modification Final Documents
- Develop OSAI Policy & Resource Branch templates, as applicable.
- On-going development of OSAI “Editorial Lessons Learned” which identifies common writing mistakes and documents feedback, patterns, examples, and corrective actions.
- Weekly coordination and collaboration meetings with Transmittal Template Team to develop standardized language and instructional guidance for consistent OSAI correspondence for S&T Directorate and SAFETY Act applicants.
- Attend OSAI Weekly Program Sync Meetings for hot topics and project status updates.
- Attend on-site OSAI briefings and collaborative on-site work sessions.
- Complete monthly, strategic and technology training requirements hosted by DHS.
Qualifications
Required:
- BS and 6 years of related experience (4 years experience in lieu of degree)
- Active Secret clearance with ability to maintain the clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship
- Knowledge of technical directives with DHS and Federal requirements for Inter Agency continuity
- Knowledge of DHS S&T
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
