SAIC is seeking a technical editor to support TSA program. Come join an established team of skilled professionals supporting TSA technologies used to keep our nation's transportation systems safe.

Position is 100% remote – candidate will work from home and must have an area to work that maintains the security of the document being reviewed. Work schedule allows flexibility within the ability to meet customer needs – may receive quick turn requests.

 Candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and editing customer deliverables (technical plans, reports, briefings, etc.) 
  •          Reviewing documents for spelling, grammar, and readability
  •          Ensuring documents follow correct template
  •          Ensuring documents are formatted correctly
  •          Verifying data is consistent throughout document
  •          Ensuring documents follow TSA style guide
  •          Working with team to ensure document review schedules are met
  •          Attending customer meetings, taking notes, and creating formal minutes
  •          Attending internal meetings to remain aware of testing documents, schedules, and milestones
  •          Meeting timelines and delivery dates
  •          Working under general direction on routine work, receiving detail instruction on new projects or assignments, and following established procedures
  •          Exercising judgement within defined parameters, procedures, and practices
  •          Supporting the Sr. Quality Assurance Principal, Operations Manager/Deputy Program Manager, and Program Manager with other duties as needed

Qualifications

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a scientific or technical discipline and 3 years experience or an MBA with 1 year of experience.

Be able to obtain a DHS suitability clearance (public trust)

Candidate must also:

  • Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Be well-versed in MS Word and have strong foundational knowledge of MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
  • Be knowledgeable regarding editing techniques and style guides
  • Have strong time management skills
  • Be able to prioritize accordingly to meet competing deadlines
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude

Preferably, candidate will also:

  • Be familiar with Government writing
  • Be familiar with writing test plans and reports
  • Be familiar with analytical language
