SAIC is looking for a Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE) Engineer to provide high-level, day-to-day operational network security maintenance, support, and system administration for complex operating systems for the US Navy's Computer Network Defense team in No. Charleston, SC.  

Job Description:

• Support, test, and integrate virtual hosting solutions.
• Utilize DISA STIGs to harden and secure network and security devices.
• Create in-depth, accurate technical documentation.
• Perform Systems Engineering activities.
• Provide technical support and document VMware processes.

Travel: Anticipated travel is up to 10%, both CONUS and OCONUS.  Candidate must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; Master's and three (3) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills:

• Experience should include testing, integrating, and supporting secure virtual hosting environments, including hosting environment hardware, back-end storage solutions, virtualization management and virtual networking.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and network security best practices.  Must be able to analyze network traffic at the packet level.
• Have solid working knowledge of DoD Virtual Hosting requirements, vendor recommended best practices, and engineering solutions to tailor to DOD requirements.
• Understand how to design, develop, install, implement, and troubleshoot custom VMware solutions.
• Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware ESXi and related technologies.
• Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages to include system evaluation, design, and architecture of Virtual hosting environments.

Required Certification(s):

• Must have one of the following security certifications: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, OR GCIH.

Required clearance:

• Active Secret Clearance and have eligibility for Top Secret. 

Desired skills:

• Foundational knowledge of computer science and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of systems engineering activities and process improvement approaches strongly desired.
