SalonCentric, a wholly owned subsidiary of L'Oréal, is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Finance Manager – A&P.  This position will be focused on financial management of the advertising and promotion spend for SalonCentric.  It will involve significant interaction with a wide range of teams including Marketing, Education, Shows, Digital and will drive the budgeting and forecasting process, ensure adherence to internal controls and drive improvements in our ROI and cost optimization.  

 

Candidate must have a strong attention to detail, a great sense of professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills. SalonCentric is a fast-paced environment with lots of opportunities to learn, advance, and be challenged to grow professionally.  The position is expected to perform ad hoc analysis on a regular basis, assist in special projects, support the development of presentation materials for executive leadership, and continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.

 

What You Will Learn:

 

Financial Management

 

  • Budget & Trend Activities
    1. Oversee the marketing budget for the relevant brands/categories, anticipating risks & opportunities and presenting these prior to Trend or Budget process
    2. Create Financial Trends and Annual Budgets in line with business and brand strategies and input these into the L'Oreal internal systems (COMPASS)
    3. Have monthly budget updates with Business Leaders / Cost Owners
    4. Monthly Close Activities
  • Confirm all month end activity on the P&L and ensure accuracy
    1. Journal entry preparation
    2. Balance Sheet Review and resolution of open or aged items
    3. Analyze monthly business results vs plan and develop robust commentary on variances and risks or opportunities on the first half or full year vs latest trend
  • Internal Control
    1. Ensure controls are maintained in line with L'Oréal's group standards and support with year-end external audit and relevant internal audits
    2. Participate in ad hoc projects to improve controls / reporting, such as the value center sales done during shows to establish the process and ensure controls around stock and payments are well maintained

Business Partnering:

 

  • Provide continuous financial training & knowledge sharing to the organization
  • Work with the Marketing Team to perform ROI analysis on marketing and media expenditure
  • Monitor the administrative process behind marketing expenses (PO creation, appropriate classification)
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on specific topics of focus for management

 

Ad Hoc

 

  • NEO Local Adaptations for A&P

 

Management:

 

  • Indirect management of a Senior Analyst based in the New York including:

o   Managing workload and priorities, delegating tasks as appropriate

o   Setting objectives

o   Coaching and development

o   Annual and quarterly performance reviews

 

What We Are Looking For:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree required – focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related field preferred
  • 4-6 years (minimum) work experience in a related field
  • Professional communication skills, strong business acumen and a strong sense of urgency
  • Comfortable having positive and constructive conversations with business partners and clearly stating business requirements
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with ability to work with Pivot Tables and large data sets
  • Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, MS Access and MS PowerPoint desirable
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, highly proactive, ability to work with multiple teams
  • Skill set for identifying problems, risks and opportunities
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast changing environment and work with various levels of management throughout the organization
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks/projects
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interest in advancement
