We are seeking a driven and versatile HR Generalist to join our team at our Wilmington, CA office. In this role, you will be providing day-to-day support with a broad range of HR functions, such as recruitment, onboarding, team member/labor relations, training and development, performance management, and compliance for the Refinery Services business. This role requires a solid understanding of HR principles and regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Uniform Services Time Off (USTO) Uniform Services Differential Pay A culture that appreciates Teame Mmbers Opportunities for Growth What you'll be doing: Manage full-cycle recruitment for designated positions, including job postings, screening, interviews, and offer coordination Partner with hiring leaders to understand position requirements, department operations, and business needs to develop effective recruitment strategies and support hiring decisions Conduct labor market analyses to support recruitment efforts and retention initiatives Complete and process personnel transactions while protecting confidential team member records Oversee new hire orientation and ensure smooth onboarding experiences Serve as a first point of contact for team members with questions, concerns, or conflicts Handle basic to moderate complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to a senior HR team member Assist with investigations and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related matters Support team member engagement initiatives and recognition programs Support the planning and delivery of HR training programs Assist with the leave of absence process to include the interactive accommodation process (i.e. FMLA, CFRA, ADA, etc.) Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations Assist with policy updates and implementation, reporting, and audits Prepare HR reports and metrics as required Partner with the HR Coordinator to ensure smooth HR operations Contribute to HR projects and process improvements Other duties as assigned Requirements to be successful: 4+ years of recruiting and/or Generalist experience Possess solid understanding and working knowledge of CA labor laws and HR best practices Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and accuracy Problem solving mindset with the ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion Innovative thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Professional demeanor and appearance Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline SHRM-CP or PHR Experience working in Dayforce, Tenstreet, and/or DISA Experience supporting an industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, transportation or logistics industry Experience supporting a unionized workforce Bilingual (Spanish) Some physical requirements and working conditions: Position is largely sedentary in a climate-controlled office environment Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 6-10 hours per day), while working at computer or desk Frequently uses hands and fingers for keyboarding, writing, and operating office tools Reads printed materials and computer screens, adjusts focus, and maintains attention to detail Hears and speaks frequently, to communicate effectively in-person, by telephone, or via virtual platforms Exposed to standard office-related materials and substances, with low-to-moderate noise levels If applicable, during operations visits may be required to wear PPE, including but not limited to respirators, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, fire resistant and/or high visibility clothing, and hearing protection #IND1
