This job posting encompasses all possible jobs that will be performed under the Transload Operator role. Which may include:
- Diesel Loading
- Sulphur Loading
- General Operator
- Ethanol Loading
- Cleaning switches
This is what we need from you:
- A sound understanding or aptitude to learn how to safely transload diesel, sulphur, ethanol, or other petrochemical products (training also provided)
- Understands, and is willing to follow all required safety regulations, procedures, policies or standards.
- Complete and maintain required daily paperwork as required
- Mechanically inclined
- Rail experience (as asset)
- Participate in all housekeeping duties, including shoveling, washing down of work areas, and keeping offices, restrooms, break rooms and work rooms clean and tidy.
- Must be able to attend and pass all tests and proficiencies associated with job related coursework.
- Willing to reliably work shifts which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience in the petrochemical field or other industrial environment preferred
- Proven ability to focus on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules.
- Have a “get the job done” work ethic and attitude that permits the team to thrive and accomplish their goals without customer service failures.
Here are some of the minimum requirements for this role:
- A high school diploma
- Willing to work outside in any weather condition including inclement weather
- Must be able to climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder or other equipment and work at heights
- Must be able to stand, kneel or crawl, and walk extensively throughout the day
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in environment containing sulfur odor/dust, hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environments.
- Must have the ability to wear all required PPE without restriction.
- Must be able to pass a fit test and pulmonary function test for the purposes of wearing a respirator and recertify annually, or as needed, when required.
- Candidates are required to clear a criminal background check, drug screen, and preemployment medical examination.
- Attend and pass all job-required tests (WHMIS, TDG, H2S, Fall Arrest, First Aid, and all other site-specific training, as required)
