THE OPPORTUNITY:
The New York office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP is seeking a Case Assistant to join our Litigation practice group, and also provide support to the Labor & Employment practice group. Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, you will perform a variety of organizational and administrative support to the team. This position upholds the image of the Firm by maintaining the highest degree of excellence and client service. The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in pursuing a legal career and would like to experience and gain knowledge about the practice of law in a large firm setting.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- On any given day, you will interact with colleagues in a team setting and work directly with paralegals, attorneys, staff, and outside vendors.
- Provide support in various aspects of case management for litigation matters, including but not limited to: assistance with document productions; maintenance of production logs; correspondence with third-party vendors; organization of litigation materials; and preparation of deposition binders.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, manage expectations from a variety of stakeholders including firm attorneys, managers, litigation support professionals, and drive projects through to completion in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to accurately write, edit and proofread (punctuation, grammar, spelling) correspondence and other legal documents.
- Any other projects as assigned by an attorney or the Paralegal Manager.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills;
- High degree of initiative and independent judgment in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $60,000 annually, which is based on a 40-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
