THE OPPORTUNITY:

As the Inclusion & Diversity Content Marketing and Communications Sr. Manager you will develop, write and manage content that promotes our Inclusion & Diversity initiatives and values. In this role you will be involved in crafting in-depth stories, reports, and policy proposals integrating relevant research and statistical data and producing content such as newsletters, email announcements, scripts, screenplays and slideshows.

 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will:

  • Research, analyze, and incorporate data and metrics into in-depth stories, features, and profiles that showcase the impact of I&D initiatives on our business, our people, and the broader communities in which we work and live.
  • Develop a variety of content formats, including data-rich articles, interviews, infographics, presentations, and scripts that reflect our I&D goals and engage our audience.
  • Collaborate with the I&D team to plan and execute a content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant content delivery.
  • Manage content creation projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met, resources are allocated efficiently, and stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Craft long-form articles and reports that delve into I&D topics, presenting complex issues and data in an accessible and engaging way.
  • Develop content for internal communications, including newsletters, project update memos, and intranet posts, to keep our teams informed and engaged with our I&D efforts, using data to highlight progress.
  • Conduct interviews with employees, leaders, and external experts, incorporating data insights to create profiles and stories that humanize our I&D efforts and bring diverse voices to the forefront.
  • Stay updated on I&D trends, including law firm policies, programs and practices, industry news, substantive I&D topics and current events.
  •  Travel is required up to about 4 times per year to one of our U.S. offices for up to one week at a time, as determined by the Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer based on the ongoing needs of the Office of Inclusion.
 

YOU HAVE:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably with significant coursework in Journalism, Communications, English, Creative Writing, or a related field involving research and writing. Advanced degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or Consulting, or other relevant advanced degree preferred, but not required. J.D. not required.
  • 7 to 10 years' experience with diversity, equity and inclusion reporting or otherwise producing content that integrates research and statistical data, for example in journalism, consulting, marketing or communications. Experience in a professional services context is preferred but not required.
  • Strong research, writing and editing skills with a journalistic approach, particularly on diversity, equity and inclusion topics
  • Proficiency in analyzing and visualizing data, with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives
  • Ability to take ownership over projects, committed to completing projects on time even in the face of challenges
  • Ability to give and receive clear constructive feedback with kindness and grace; emotionally resilient, with a strong and empowered sense of self.
  • Ability to apply a generous and empathetic interpretation to the behavior of others, committed to fostering an inclusive and kind work environment
  • Commitment and desire to continue to learn and develop professionally including reading books and articles as recommended by the Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer, completing trainings and adapting to change with a positive attitude and growth mindset
  • Excellent project management skills including creating detailed checklists, timelines, process mapping and holding all parties accountable for their deliverables
  • Knowledge of relevant software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, video production software, Smartsheets), with the desire and ability to learn new software and tools
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create graphs, pie charts, tables, timelines, and other visual representations of quantitative data; comfortable manipulating and analyzing numerical data
  • Experience or ability to learn to design aesthetically pleasing final products such as reports, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, videos, event invitations and surveys.
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Desire and ability to work alone and independently for several days without interaction with a supervisor; confident about communicating proactively with supervisor when needed

This position has the option to work fully remote or a 3 day onsite hybrid schedule from one of the following U.S. cities: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, LA Century City, LA Downtown, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

 

Los Angeles: The full time salary range for this role is $151,000 to $161,000 annually, which is based on a 40hour work week.

 

New York: The full time salary range for this role is $164,000 to $175,000 annually, which is based on a 40hour work week.

  San Francisco: The full time salary range for this role is $172,000 to $184,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week.

Seattle: The full time salary range for this role is $153,000 to $164,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week.

Washington, DC: The full time salary range for this role is $155,000 to $165,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week.

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role in the locations listed above at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
