THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Legal Support Assistant, you will perform a variety of administrative duties for assigned attorneys and paralegals in our Real Estate practice.  You will interact with colleagues in a team setting and uphold the image of the firm by maintaining positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff, and observing confidentiality of client matters.

 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will be working with firm leadership, partners, and business colleagues on a variety of projects and requests.  You will:

  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders on behalf of the attorneys, maintaining good public relations and confidentiality of client matters and firm leadership matters. 
  • Track the status and progress of various projects and tasks assigned to the attorneys, and follow up as needed to ensure timely completion and quality standards. 
  • Prepare and organize documents and materials for meetings, presentations, and transactions, and assist with the preparation of expense reports and invoices.
  • Research and resolve issues and inquiries related to the attorneys' work, using available resources and technology.
  • Manage the attorneys' calendars, contacts, and deadline reminder systems, ensuring that they are updated and accurate at all times.  Schedule appointments, arrangements and travel.
  • Draft, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents, such as correspondence, audit letters, memoranda, and contracts, and ensure they are formatted, spelled, and grammatically correct.
  • Sort, date and read incoming mail. Prepare documents and packages for mail, messenger and overnight delivery;
  • Complete client/matter forms, request conflicts of interest checks, and open and close files;
  • Maintain and organize client and general files, and conduct periodic review for possible storage of old files;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned;
  • Enter attorney time, send time entry reminders and track entries;
  • Review and file e-mail; and
  • Process client billing and expense reports.
 

YOU HAVE:

  • 4-5 years of legal experience
  • Ability to manage vendor invoices
  • Proofreading, attention to detail and solid grammar/spelling skills a must
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Excel a must
  • Typing speed/accuracy: 70 wpm with accuracy
  • Legal citation and legal terminology expertise
  • Familiarity with Carpe Diem, Elite, iManage, Chrome River, Forte or similar technology

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $85,000, which is based on a 37.5 hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Seattle, WA. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
