Electronics Engineer III

Position Summary:
This Electronics Engineer III is a product development and R&D Engineering position within SIG SAUER's Remote Weapon Station division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for firmware / source code development (MCU) and field programmable gate array development (FPGA) for new products, including Verilog development for FPGAs, video processing, and networking processing. The position will be 10% hardware design, and 20% microcontroller / embedded systems development, and 70% CPLD/FPGA development. The Electronics Engineer III will work independently but will maintain close collaborative efforts with the remainder of the R&D Team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Creates PCBA schematics and layouts.
• Develops source code for common MCU platforms, including TI, Atmel, NXP and other common MCUs, including Bluetooth modules such as Nordic systems.
• Develops high speed data acquisition and signal processing systems, including FPGA development with Verilog / HDL firmware expertise.
• Responsible for taking new product concepts through all aspects of the product development cycle, resulting in a producible and innovative product.
• Assists in the development of test equipment and procedures for manufacturing support.
• Ensures a seamless transition from prototype to a fully developed and manufactured product.
• Reviews and understands military standards, including communication and network protocols.
• Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
• Participates in and sustains 5S Standards.
• Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
• Must be able to travel infrequently.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Required Skills:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering required.
• 5 years of recent, related experience in source code development for MCU / FPGAs.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Altium and other development tools such as Kiel, IAR and Diamond is required.
• Aptitude for detail with the ability to work in a team environment required.
• Project Management experience is required, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), and time management skills.
• Ideal candidate must be creative, self-motivated, and an independent thinker.
• Firearm and sports optics experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the shooting sports industry is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Working Conditions:
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
