OSP Technician II

1st Shift

Position Summary:
The position is responsible for the timely movement of material from SIG Operations to outside vendors. The OSP Production Technician also receives the material once it is processed through external vendors. Limited experience as a Material Handler, Assembler or as a Shipper/Receiver is preferred. OSP Production I Technician will with work both independently and in a team environment. Responsible for coordinating with external vendors, planners, inspection, and receiving.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
• Oversee and maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials,products, and supplies in the proper inventory location.
• Update transactions in the inventory system to enter new quantities and to remove inventory from one location to production floor with no supervision. Stage material at work centers, and evaluate, trace, and correct data related issues.
• Perform troubleshooting into transactional actions and audits to determine the correct outcome.
• Creation of a work order and processing in progression as outlined on the work order. Requisition of material is created from the warehouse and material is issued. Work
order is moved through Oracle.
• Required to provide guidance and training to Level I employees.
• Move materials through the process using ERP and MRP system and perform cycle counts. Processes MHS with oversight from management.
• Responsible for coordinating the shipping, delivery, and receiving of raw parts.
• Using Oracle, receive parts into SIG. If parts are received incorrectly, diagnose and correct the issue. This could be a missing packing slip, incorrect PO, or shipments.
• Creation of POs up to $10,000. Verify pricing and commitments to vendors. Ability to create Government PO's.
• Training and basic knowledge of physically looking at a part to ensure proper condition using blueprints. Look at parts to ensure proper serial numbers and that all
parts are properly machined and deburred.
• Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity, and to satisfy customer needs and expectations. Initiate and encourage others to resolve impediments and act on improvement opportunities.
• Participate in and sustains 5S Standards.
• Must follow all required safety and ISO procedures.
• May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
• May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education /Experience & Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent, typically requires 2+ years of training at process coordinator, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid license and have the ability to drive a 1-ton van.
• Must be able to convey ideas and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
• Help occasionally on the team without being asked.
• Ability to learn basic blueprint reading.
• Complete most tasks ahead of time.
• Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.

Working Conditions:
• Regularly perform repetitive tasks
• Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
• Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
• The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
• Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to focus on fine print.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
