This is a full-time opportunity working Monday – Thursday, 10 hour shifts (8am-6pm - OR - 9am-7pm)

Compensation is based on the skills and experiences brought to Smyth.
Our Maintenance Technicians repair and maintain Smyth's machinery including electro-mechanical equipment, motion controls, motors, pneumatic systems, pumps.
Successful candidates will :
- Communicate with other departments to ensure proper flow and progression of scheduled/unscheduled repairs and planned maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure all timelines are met.
- Ensure efficient operation of machinery and support equipment, this includes mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
- Locate sources of issues by observing equipment in operation; troubleshooting for issues; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Verify proper repair and maintenance of equipment has been completed.
- Repair complex heavy duty or precision equipment.
- Support and assist with facility maintenance.
- Assist and guide outside contractors with projects as needed.
- Assist manufacturing departments with the performance of scheduled PMs; maintain preventive maintenance and work order request records.
- Assist with the maintenance of inventory records and replenishment of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Work safely. Abide by and promote established safety policies and procedures. Identify and follow-up on unsafe conditions.
- Practice all job-related quality procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess thorough knowledge of all maintenance procedures
- Ability to think through the mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery operations and decision-making
- Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting of the electro-mechanical systems
- Capability to monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure systems are performing according to manufacturer's specification
- Self-starter with effective time management for multiple long- and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related deadlines
- Must have basic math, reading, writing skills, and can tactfully communicate to customers and employees of all levels of the company
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a diverse group
- Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization
- PLC and HMI literacy is a plus
- Knowledge of CMMS (MVP one) is a plus
Education, Experience, and Credentials:
- High School degree or equivalent and/or 2+ years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO quality systems is preferred
- Must be open to off schedule calls, and available for overtime as needed
- Industrial machinery maintenance experience preferred
