As a Receiving Associate and member of the Shipping/Receiving Team you will help bring our customers' package labels to life, enabling them to stand out over the competition, and create a customer experience that is second to none. Compensation for Receiving Associate will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:    8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday-Friday                                

Key Responsibilities for Receiving Associate include:

  • Oversight of receiving activities including incoming inspection of materials and customer product returns, ensuring accuracy of counts and documentation, resolving any discrepancies as needed
  • Routing of documentation to proper recordkeeping unit, i.e., Accounts Payable 
  • Working with Buyers/Inventory Coordinators to maintain overall accuracy, control, and organization of raw materials
  • Assisting with unloading trucks and putting away product in the correct stock location; assisting material handlers with raw material movement; assisting with shipping as needed
  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing areas for Lean improvement/modification

The ideal Receiving Associate candidate must demonstrate:

  • Attention to detail, effective time management, and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously
  • Good computer skills, including ability to learn new computer systems, i.e., UPS software
  • Willingness to work within a team to further enhance business systems, processes and workflows 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalities
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization

Education, Skills, and Experience for Receiving Associate:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required: Can perform heavy work, lifting up to 60 pounds, frequent pushing and pulling heavy items, often lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Required: Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language
  • Required: Previous experience with operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jack
  • A Plus: Experience working with lean manufacturing
