We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support and strengthen our National Industrial Security Program in a possessing facility environment. This position demands a proactive and accountable security professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical, and compliance-focused setting, managing a team of security professionals in delivering a gold-standard program. Responsibilities The AFSO is responsible for supporting the FSO in implementing and maintaining the organization's security program in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM). The AFSO must ensure compliance with DCSA directives and serve as a critical partner in the execution of daily security operations. Key responsibilities include: Security Program Management Supervise a team of security professionals delivering a gold-standard program. Ensure proper safeguarding and handling of classified materials, including storage, transmission, and destruction. Conduct and document required self-inspections and corrective actions plans in accordance with DCSA guidelines. Support and maintain a corporate wide facility's and branch offices. Personnel Security Process and maintain personnel security clearances via DISS. Maintain records of cleared employees and manage reinvestigations and continuous vetting requirements. Maintain accurate records for initial, annual, special briefings, debriefings, and insider threat training. Maintain personnel records and briefings to ensure compliance. Classified Material Control & Information Security Oversee receipt, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified information. Maintain accountability and control of all classified assets and records. Ensure compliance with safeguarding standards including proper use of GSA-approved containers and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Manage secure storage containers and combinations; ensure proper accountability of classified holdings. Maintain access control logs, courier authorizations, and destruction certificates. Oversee secure communications and courier procedures. Handle responsibilities as a Designated Government Representative. Insider Threat & Self-Inspections Support Insider Threat Program implementation and awareness activities. Assist with the planning, execution, and documentation of annual self-inspections and vulnerability assessments. Classified Contract Support Track, manage, and create DD254s, classified contract requirements, and subcontractor security compliance. Coordinate with Program Managers to ensure facility and personnel security requirements align with contract deliverables. Physical and Industrial Security Manage physical access controls, alarm systems, and visitor control procedures for classified spaces. Coordinate with IT to ensure security integrity of classified processing environments. Support SCIF/SAPF operations in compliance with applicable directives. Ensure physical protection of classified processing and storage areas; coordinate with facility maintenance and security vendors for IDS/Secure Area issues. Manage the alarm response protocols and ensure compliance with UL 2050 standards. Compliance and Liaison Prepare reports, incident notifications, and required documentation in support of government and internal policies. Serve as the alternate point of contact with DCSA Industrial Security Representative (ISR). Prepare for and support DCSA security reviews and audits; respond to findings and recommendations. Collaborate with group leaders, program managers, IT personnel, and cybersecurity to align security practices. Security Education Training and Awareness Develop, conduct, and document recurring training for all cleared and uncleared personnel on security procedures, counterintelligence awareness, and operational security (OPSEC). Maintain training records and ensure compliance with annual and caveat training certificate requirements. Qualifications Experience 7+ years in industrial security with direct experience at a large fast-paced possessing contractor facility. Cogswell Award recipient, or a consistent track record of Superior and Commendable ratings for a large possessing facility.
