The Joint Defense Support Group, within SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division, supports the Surface Community and components of the United States Navy by providing program management, requirements management, force development, and readiness support in Washington DC and the Fleet concentration areas. We provide timely, objective, analytic assessments, strategic planning, and expert operational, technical, and acquisition support to the Maritime communities, and related agencies, allies, and partners. We are trusted agents of the senior and operational leadership in the Fleet, OPNAV, NAVSEA, and the Royal Canadian and Royal Australian Navies. We play key roles in providing insights and strategies to address current and emerging challenges to national security and have tremendous impact on our client's success in solving their most important issues. SPA has a near-term need for a Navy Exercise Planner.#FC Responsibilities Participates in planning conferences supporting exercises Provides assistance with drafting Test Plan/OPORD, Data Collection Plan and Analysis Plan based upon input generated during planning conferences During exercises, assist ships' company in comprehending and executing plans, and ensuring they collect pertinent data required to support exercise reconstruction and analysis Communicate exercise results orally and in written formats to representatives of naval commands, engineering labs, and program offices Assists in providing insight during ad hoc workshops and conferences Salary Range: $92-97k Qualifications Required Qualifications: 8-10 years of Navy experience and a minimum of four years of experience in planning naval USW exercises Ability to prepare reports and correspondence that are technically correct Excellent analytical problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Familiarity with the design and construction of experiments to assist with the design of events or exercises Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
