Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention. The Surety Programs Group (SPG) supports government and private sector management of complex safety, security, and reliability programs for high consequence operations. SPG delivers industry-leading, innovative, and value-added services such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention to help our clients understand and mitigate mission risks spanning physical, cyber, and human domains. SPG is hiring for Summer Internship with Red Six Solutions in Bowie, MD. Responsibilities SPG/Red Six Solutions is seeking a college student with an interest in uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) to support hands-on design, build, and flight operations activities. This is an immersive, real-world opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and operators on advanced drone systems used for government, defense, and commercial applications. What You'll Do: Assist with the design, assembly, and modification of drones. Help customize airframes, propulsion, avionics, and payloads for specific mission profiles. Support flight testing and data collection, including pre-flight prep and post-flight analysis. Participate in field operations and demonstrations, working directly with Red Six engineers and pilots. Contribute to prototyping, troubleshooting, and rapid iteration of UAS systems. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen. Currently enrolled college student (engineering, aviation, robotics, computer science, or related field preferred). Strong interest in drones, aerospace, or hands-on technical work. Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, experimental environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape). Drone piloting experience (FPV, fixed-wing, or multirotor). Familiarity with basic electronics, 3D printing, or composite materials. Additional Details: Some travel may be required to support testing, demonstrations, or customer events. Must be comfortable working outdoors and in test-range environments. U.S. work authorization required (security or customer requirements may apply).
