Responsibilities
SPA is seeking an outgoing, detail oriented, self-starter to provide support to the Team Submarine VIRGINIA Class New Construction Program. This effort seeks to unify submarine platform procurement activities and decisions to continue bringing improved capabilities to the undersea forces. Program Analysts supporting Team Submarine would continue SPA's decades of support to high-profile, major acquisition programs of significant importance to current and future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.
A "Day in the Life" for this position will vary greatly, but the Program Analyst will provide direct program management support to the VIRGINIA Class New Construction Deputy Ship Design Manager. Responsibilities will include coordinating adjudication of commitments with technical authorities, serve as liaison on technical issues overlapping with the purview of technical authorities outside the Virginia program, and assist in the tracking of technical liabilities in the program. This work may include technical research, development of mitigations to production challenges, and oversight of shipbuilder activities and progress. Also, one can expect to brief senior leaders on program progress, being able to translate complex technical problems into executive-ready briefs. Travel to vendor sites for meetings and reviews is possible. It is expected that the amount of independence in this position will quickly grow as the employee becomes acclimated to our customer and product set.
This position is located in the Washington DC Navy Yard. You must have the ability to work onsite Monday-Friday.
