The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. SPA has an immediate need for a System Engineer - Data Integration. #MC Responsibilities SPA is seeking an outgoing, detail-oriented, self-starter to provide technical and programmatic support within Team Submarine (TEAMSUB). The System Engineer will play a key role in supporting the TEAMSUB Logistics team by managing logistics processes and digital systems, including cloud platforms, while ensuring technical documentation and resources are seamlessly integrated to support system acquisition, operation, and sustainment. Specific areas of responsibility include: Analyze and mitigate risks during transitions of logistics systems, technical data, and processes to Model-Based Product Support (MBPS). Leverage programming skills, preferably SQL, to optimize workflows, enhance database integration, troubleshoot workflow issues, and ensure seamless system transitions. Manage submarine logistics and data migration to MBPS, ensuring accuracy and compatibility. Lead and support MBPS and other working groups as needed, coordinating meetings, tracking minutes, action items, and milestones, while addressing sustainment challenges and managing risks. Collaborate with teams to support acquisition, maintenance, and operations of logistics systems. Provide user support and oversee logistics tools to improve efficiency and implementation This position is located at the client site in the Washington Navy Yard and offers the potential for light telework. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical or a related field. 5+ years' experience in engineering or technical program analysis, preferably supporting NAVSEA or similar adjacent organizations. Experience utilizing software programming skills, preferably SQL or related technologies. Experience chairing or leading dispersed technical working groups or teams. Experience in creating briefings for senior leadership on metrics, issues, and potential resolutions. Experience working with and coordinating with a Navy Planning Yards, contractors, and NAVSEA field activities. Strong verbal/presentation and written communication skills. Additional Qualifications Desired, but not required: Knowledge of DoD and NAVSEA policies, military standards, and logistics practices related to product support, digital transformation, and technical data management. Experience with IT Cyber Security requirements. Experience with IT projects, including data migration, modernization, and compliance with enterprise-level systems and standards. Familiarity with Navy acquisition processes, Integrated Product Support (IPS), and submarine sustainment. Understanding of Navy correspondence, records management, and security classification protocols. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Navy-specific IT tools for logistics and acquisition support.
