A Intern Software Engineer I is responsible for collaborating with internal and external customers to learn, enhance, design, develop, and test programs utilized by the corporation to manage reverse logistics and operational management and delight our customers. They will learn under the tutelage of the other staff and software engineers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train initially as a Software Specialist in becoming a business process, software expert and software support expert
- Accept mentorship by the Project Manager and Software Engineers for methods and procedures
- Study the software databases and code
- Develop new features, investigate bugs, and assist in maintaining existing web applications written in PHP
- Ensure exceptional code quality and thorough testing (both at unit and system integration level) on every newly developed feature
- Translate business requirements into technical understanding of the functions and features required and perform implementations to the specification
- Contribute to improving the quality and design of the existing code base
- Provide technical problem resolution for less complex problems
- Perform data integrity tests and validation, analyzing output from given scenarios. Identify production issues and process flow requirements, interviewing and working with users to improve output and data integrity
- The ability to translate user needs and requests to technical processes and understanding the job requirements and systems design
- Help define reporting needs, outline and execute required data resources to accomplish desired output. Write programs for reporting and other system needs
- Work with Quality to define and execute work flow standards for system usage and assist in implementing guidelines and training curriculum; outlining correct operating procedures
- Agile related environment/Agile type of development (short sprints, etc.)
- Outline and attain data requisites from customers. Manage input/output flow and requirements and interfaces needed to port data in to and from SQL and adjoining systems
- Develop and maintain utility programs and scripts to automate conversion tasks
- Generate, maintain and manage flowcharts of systems and processes

Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Associates Degree or higher in Computer Information Systems or related field with an emphasis in programming
- Proven academic programming experience
- Proven academic experience in programming and database structures relatable to PHP and MySQL
