As part of the SS&C GlobeOp division, the Australian tax service team sits within the Global Tax team, which consists of over 150 tax specialists across 12 jurisdictions. The size of the Global Tax team is continuously growing as the company expands its footprint globally.
The Global Head of Tax is based in the USA, and oversees the Australian tax operation through his direct report, the Head of Australian Tax. The Global Tax team has responsibility for producing/lodging accurate tax reporting and tax returns for alternative fund clients in each region.
The Global Head of Tax also manages and develops an advanced tax system called Tax BrightLine in the USA. Eventually, this software will roll out to other regions under SS&C's administration.

What You Will Get To Do:
As the Australian business continues its transition from start-up phase into a period of significant growth, SS&C has created the Associate Tax Manager role to support the Head of Australian Tax in building and leading a high-performing tax team. This position will play a key role in delivering accurate tax compliance outcomes, conducting technical tax analysis, and supporting tax planning activities to help manage tax risks across SS&C's fund administration business.
Working closely with the Head of Australian Tax, the successful candidate will help drive the team's vision and contribute to establishing the function as one of Australia's leading tax administration service teams.
This role suits a proactive and solutions-focused professional with a strong “can-do” mindset, excellent attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and deliver a high standard of client service is essential, as client satisfaction remains a key focus within SS&C.
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise in Australian fund and corporate taxation, with exposure to New Zealand tax viewed favourably.
- Prepare a broad range of tax compliance deliverables, including distribution calculations, tax provisions, franking credit calculations, AIIR, income tax returns, investor statements, and BAS returns.
- Support the Head of Australian Tax in reviewing and overseeing end-to-end client deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion.
- Manage client expectations effectively while delivering high-quality outcomes independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Act as a subject matter expert across key technical tax areas and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of tax policies, procedures, and control frameworks to support effective tax risk management.
- Identify, drive, and implement process improvement and automation initiatives across tax templates and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processing.
What You Will Bring:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline, with 5–7 years of relevant tax experience
- CA or CPA qualified
- Previous experience within fund tax, corporate tax, or professional tax advisory environments is highly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian fund and corporate tax, accounting, reporting obligations, and associated operational risk and ATO compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage demanding clients, competing priorities, and tight deadlines within a high-performance environment
- Prior people leadership or team management experience is essential
- Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes, maintain exceptional attention to detail, and contribute positively within a collaborative team environment
- Strong customer service mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and “can do” attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying efficiencies, enhancing processes, and supporting operational excellence initiatives
