Lead HR Business Partner

Location: Hyderabad, India

This position is responsible for providing strategic HR partnership to business leaders and employees, ensuring alignment between people strategy and business objectives. The role delivers expert guidance across employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, compliance with India employment laws, and organizational effectiveness. The position will also collaborate with global HR teams and provide support to operations in other regions as required, contributing to enterprise-wide HR initiatives.

What You Will Get to Do

  • Partner closely with business leaders, managers, and employees to provide end-to-end HR guidance aligned with business strategy and India-specific employment practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership in India on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent risks, and employee engagement.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, performance concerns, misconduct cases, and exits, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Conduct and manage thorough, objective, and well-documented workplace investigations, ensuring due process and appropriate closure.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, feedback, career development, disciplinary processes, and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of India employment laws, labor regulations, and statutory requirements, proactively reducing legal and employee relations risk.
  • Interpret, apply, and support consistent implementation of company HR policies and procedures, aligned with local regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze HR dashboards covering engagement, attrition, retention, performance, and workforce metrics, translating insights into actionable recommendations for leaders.
  • Analyze people data and trends in partnership with HR teams to design and implement solutions, programs, and interventions.
  • Support employee life cycle processes including on-boarding, probation, internal mobility, performance cycles, leaves of absence, and off-boarding to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline HR processes, improving efficiency and scalability through HR systems and available technology.
  • Partner with Learning and Development teams to identify capability gaps and support delivery of targeted development and compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with global HR stakeholders and cross-functional teams, supporting regional and enterprise-wide HR initiatives as required.

What You Will Bring

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner supporting leaders in India.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing complex employee relations cases and advising leaders in a compliance-driven environment.
  • In-depth working knowledge of India employment laws, labor regulations, and statutory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence managers and senior stakeholders on people decisions and organizational matters.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting HR data, identifying trends, and providing strategic insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and influence effectively.
  • Proven ability to build credible relationships across all levels of the organization and with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work autonomously as an individual contributor, managing ambiguity and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professional judgement.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to Have:

  • HR certification.
  • Experience with Workday or similar HR systems.
  • Prior experience in BFSI, Fintech, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones.
