Job Description
This role is part of the Portfolio and Business Planning function within the SS&C AU business. Line management is into a member of the leadership team, however, daily responsibilities and deliverables will be overseen within the governance structure of project(s).
Opportunity snapshot:The Enterprise Business Analyst will provide expert enterprise analysis and business process transformation capabilities to identify business requirements and define solutions. They will have an enterprise-wide view of all strategic change initiatives, investigation solutions, apply business acumen and develop quality deliverables to support enterprise business and portfolio decisions. The opportunity will focus on the creation and introduction of frameworks, processes, recommendations to the business as we move to a more service focused approach.
Key accountabilities:These accountabilities ensure that the Enterprise Business Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between client and business needs and product / technical solutions, facilitating effective project delivery, and driving continuous improvement within the organisation -
Engage with stakeholders to gather and understand business needs and requirements. Create clear and detailed requirements documentation such as BRDs, and user stories. Validate that these are accurate, complete and aligned with client and/or business objectives.
Develop relevant artefacts including requirements, solution options and recommendations, investment analysis, impact assessment and other technical advice and business cases, incorporating architectural and product recommendations where required.
Collaborate with other teams and stakeholder to assess impacts on other initiatives in place, underway or planned across the enterprise that need to be considered.
Actively identify and champion innovation initiatives supporting the business strategy,
Recommend and participate in the design and implementation of standards, tools, and methodologies.
Share best practice, lessons learned and constantly updates understanding based on changing technologies, practice, and knowledge.
Perform business analysis tasks on the most complex projects, and/or coordinate tasks across programmes with a team of project BA's.
Identify solution options which will meet the business need, then evaluate feasibility, to determine the best solution approach.
Assist portfolio management in defining portfolio/project scope, resource demand, benefits, and risks during the discovery phase; may lead discovery efforts.
Recognise potential risks associated with business processes or project deliverables and develop and implement strategies to address and mitigate,
Work with architects and other ICT groups to ensure that system architectures meet the needs of the enterprise to deliver on the business capabilities.
Ensure the business is aware of emerging trends, practice and technologies in the marketplace and how they may contribute to business outcomes and strategies.
Collaborate with other Analysts and functions across SS&C to improve practices and drive consistency.
Provide input and information for new business opportunities which may include completing client workshops and/or presentations.
Provide data to inform the prioritisation of initiatives across SS&C's portfolio of work whilst aligning to the growth strategy.
Act as a trusted adviser to senior business leaders on strategic alignment, business planning and analysis.
Demonstrate thought leadership through the development of strategic recommendations and identification of key risk areas.
Commercially astute, with a customer focussed ‘can do' attitude.
Expertise in facilitation and collaboration at senior levels, generating information and analysis, selling new approaches and concepts, and steering debates towards pragmatic solutions.
Ability to assess the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment at an enterprise level.
A flexible approach and responsiveness to new ideas and activities, demonstrated by willingness to take on new challenges, roles, and responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience in the development of gap analysis and feasibility studies, requirement artefacts, risk analysis, cost impacts, business cases and delivery plans.
Demonstrated experience with project development frameworks and methodologies.
Understanding of strategic and business planning and how this is refined down to implementing business change.
Education & qualification:
Degree, qualifications or equal experience in large complex organisations and/or programs or portfolios
Minimum ten years' business analysis, BPM and modelling experience.
