What You Will Get To Do:

The Senior Manager, Risk & Compliance – Incidents is a key role within the first line of defence, responsible for overseeing, managing, and reporting operational risk incidents across the business. This includes both internal and external incidents, ensuring they are identified, investigated, and resolved efficiently and in line with regulatory expectations. The role supports the Head of Line 1 Operational Risk and Compliance in strengthening the organisation's risk culture, driving process improvements, and embedding operational excellence across all areas.

  • Oversee end-to-end operational risk incidents, including logging, investigation, root cause analysis, resolution, and reporting in line with policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.

  • Conduct root cause analyses to identify trends, support corrective actions, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.

  • Collaborate with client services, compliance, and operations teams to ensure timely and effective incident resolution and professional client communication.

  • Maintain and improve the risk incident framework, policies, processes, and controls, ensuring compliance with KRIs, KPIs, and industry best practices.

  • Proactively identify emerging risks and operational vulnerabilities, supporting risk assessments and process improvements.

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and analytics to detect trends, systemic risks, and inform senior leadership and client reporting.

  • Work with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to escalate high-impact issues and embed a culture of proactive risk management.

  • Develop and deliver risk awareness and incident management training, capturing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong understanding of Line 1 risk principles, operational risk frameworks, and incident management best practices.

  • Skilled in assessing complex issues, identifying root causes, and recommending practical solutions.

  • Knowledgeable in financial services regulations, including APRA, ASIC, OAIC, and ATO.

  • Experienced in collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams to drive a risk-aware culture.

  • Proficient in data management, analytics, and reporting using tools such as Power BI and risk event registers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex escalations, engage stakeholders, and support continuous process improvement.

  • Over 8 years' experience in operational risk management or incident handling within financial services, including Transfer Agency environments.

  • Experienced in risk event reporting, process improvement, and leading risk investigations with senior stakeholder engagement.
