What You Will Get to Do:           

As a Senior Performance Engineer with strong .NET development and SQL server expertise, you will lead the design and execution of performance engineering strategies across complex enterprise systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal user experience. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks, analyse system behaviour under load, and drive performance improvements through data-driven insights and automation.

We are seeking a senior performance engineer with strong .NET development and SQL server expertise with proven 10+ years of overall IT experience to join our growing team of performance engineers and testers. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, capable of optimizing systems and collaborating effectively across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Partner with performance testers to triage test results, investigate issues and identify root causes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolves complex performance problems in .NET application and SQL Server:
  • Design and optimize relational databases (MSSQL) with a focus on performance.
  • Tune SQL queries, indexes, filegroups and database schema for performance improvements.
  • Implement and manage DB objects: indexes, stored procedures, triggers, views, CTEs.
  • Analyze and improve query execution plans and performance metrics.
  • Develop robust applications using C#/VB.Net with strong OOP principles.
  • Apply multi-threading, LINQ, TPL, and ASP.Net for efficient processing.
  • Contribute to microservices architecture and apply SOLID principles.
  • Enhance monitoring, logging and metrics for better detection and diagnosis oof performance issues.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to provide input on performance risks and design considerations.
  • Review and drive the incorporation of performance best practices and optimizations from mature UK program into the AU program, guided by performance risk profiles.

What You Will Bring:

Technical Skills

  • Strong .NET development background: .NET: C#/VB.Net, OOP, multi-threading, LINQ, TPL, ASP.Net.
  • Expert MSSQL server knowledge including:
  • DB design, normalization/de-normalization, performance tuning.
  • Query optimization and execution plan analysis.
  • Index and filegroup design/management
    • Schema and stored procedure optimization
    • Understanding of database internals (locking, blocking, deadlocks, transactions)
  • Preferred experience within superannuation, wealth management or other financial services domain.
  • Experience working with large enterprise environments, with complex, high volume systems.
  • Desirable: Exposure to microservices and SOLID principles, Design Patterns, SOA-based architecture. RESTful Web APIs
