What You Will Get To Do

  • Work with a small, highly-talented, and fun-loving team to enhance our industry-leading enterprise investment accounting system – Geneva - that services the accounting needs of some of the most sophisticated clients in the hedge fund, fund administration, asset management and prime brokerage space.
  • Work with product managers to understand business requirements and design corresponding technical solutions.  Plan and execute projects that span multiple components of the product and/or requires multiple phases to implement
  • Leads multi-role development team to develop and deliver above mentioned projects
  • Take ownership of major functional areas and/or system components of our product; be proactive in maintaining and improving these areas. 
  • Be able to handle client escalations with minimum management input
  • Have a commitment to quality, seeking out design and code reviews as appropriate.
  • Work in a development environment using the Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Effectively communicate plans and status of projects to stakeholders. Work with development managers to keep short and long-term projects moving forward.

What You Will Bring

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in object-oriented programming using C++.  10+ years' experience with enterprise-wide, large scale systems development.
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux systems. We build on RHEL platforms.
  • Commitment to software development process that promotes high standards.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a wide range of team members and development managers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and determination to push through obstacles. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under time constraints as well as changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound trade-off recommendations regarding functionality, scope and time-to-market
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and the financial industry through education or experience is preferred. Special emphasis on back office operations. Experience with institutional portfolio accounting is ideal.
  • Knowledge and experience with bug tracking and Agile tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, is helpful.
  • Willingness to collaborate across time zones.
